I once received an mp3 file of a song by an old friend some years ago. I remember the instant urge grew in me to know this person for his voice. “who is this singer? I want to meet him.” was my response to that mp3 song. This is how I met the very talented musician Apurva Thakker. The same urge raised again inside me for the very second time when I heard his sister Ishita Thakker for the first time this year. “She is my new favorite Apurva. I loved her voice” I told Apurva.
And not just me, everyone who heard them felt the same urge of listening to every of their music composition in their voices. How do I know this? Because I literally have been asked for more songs sung by them when someone in my link heard them the first time. Have you ever been someone’s fan just because they are great artists and not just famous artists like I became of these two melodious voices? The Thakker Siblings
Apurva Thakker and Ishita Thakker aka Thakker Siblings are from Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab in India. They belong to a family of artists. So, we can say that music is in their blood. They learned music from their father Bharat Thakker who himself has a very melodious voice of his times.
Apurva Thakker is a singer and musician. Apart from this, he is a hardworking software engineer. I know him as a friend, a client, and a coworker. But I will talk about him as his fan or him as an artist because this is why we met. “A person down to earth” is how I can describe this artist since the first time I talked to him. He respects his fellow artists, promotes them whenever needed, and also talks to people who like his voice in a very friendly and respectful manner. He is a big fan of Arijit Singh and there was once a song in which his voice completely matched Arijit Singh’s voice.
As per his latest interview that I heard in Rang Mastaaney, he is a fan of a lot of other singers too, and though he sings mostly Bollywood unplugged versions himself, he respects all other genres equally and listens to all of them.
Ishita Thakker, the singer whose voice can take you to another world. She is an artist that is on my top list of whose fan I am. Did I tell you that she is a dance artist also? I believe this talent came from her mother. Ishita is a student of B.Com. But she is an individual when it comes to singing. I don’t know her personally but I can say that she is also a friendly artist, a family person, and a good friend. As far as I can understand she respects the art and artists just like her brother does.
